 Hello and welcome to my Celtic knot painting Collection; I've always had a fascination with Celtic knots; when I was a child I was just stunned in their intricate patterns & I always wondered how they got them to look so complex so once I began painting I decided to dig deeper into the way Celtic knots are created as well as the history behind them and I decided to test myself, with my patience as well as with my skills to see if I could create them as well & what began with quite simple knots has transformed into what you see below that I have available for sale below; each one has been done the same as my other paintings- by hand using a graphic tablet with my computer so you know that when you purchase a Mike Sexton painting you're getting a painting that looks just as good as an oil or acrylic painting would. You'll find my Celtic knots are created using the same sorts of patterns & ideas that classic knots have been designed in but I also add my own touches to them, including the intricacy and shapes of some of my knots as well as the subject material I use which includes things such as a Celtic cross, wolves, birds, dolphins and also the more contemporary designs such as Celtic cats & dogs! I try to create a few new Celtic knots each year and with each knot I create I try to challenge myself, whether that is when I first begin the design or as I'm going along; either way I end up trying things that sometimes work, sometimes do not work but with each attempt I learn and expand the boundaries of my Celtic knot creations.
